A visionary leader, philanthropist and advocate for Tampa Bay, Judy Genshaft is in her 19th year as University of South Florida System President. USF ranks among the top 30 universities nationally for research, with over $568 million in total research expenditures. USF was recently given the elite designation of “Preeminent State Research University” and was accepted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. USF also recently reached its $1 billion fundraising goal, a rare feat for an institution of USF’s age.
Genshaft has earned local, national and global recognition from professional organizations throughout her career. In 2010, she became the first woman to chair the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Board. In 2017 she was awarded the American Council on Education Donna Shavlik Award for promoting women in higher education. She is a co-founder and role-model for Women in Leadership & Philanthropy, which supports women’s initiatives throughout the USF System and the community. In 2018-19, she will chair the Tampa Hillsborough EDC.
Genshaft’s leadership has helped lay the foundation upon which Tampa Bay can thrive, now and into the future.
