Liz Kaplan, a Director of Development at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), is passionate about philanthropy, the non-profit sector and corporate social responsibility.

“I want to make a true difference in our community,” said Liz, who has more than 20 years of experience. In 2019, she will take the helm as President of the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The Association’s goals are to foster the
development and growth of fundraising professionals.

She works closely with TGen’s Center for Rare Childhood Disorders (C4RCD), which helps diagnose and treat children with rare neurological disorders.

Often, these children arrive at TGen with just a collection of symptoms after sometimes spending years going from one doctor to the next. At TGen, specialists have a diagnosis rate of nearly 40 percent, putting many of these children on a road to better health.

She also supports TGen’s neurogenomic research, including TGen’s unique MindCrowd.org Alzheimer’s project.
