A native of western Pennsylvania, Ashley has been reporting since she was 18, covering everything from dairy farming to the ghost towns of the Great Recession. Her first article was “A Day in the Life of a Residence Hall Custodian,” written for her college newspaper at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
