The Jackson in Action 83 Foundation was founded in 2012 by professional football player Vincent Jackson
and his wife, Lindsey. Its mission is to provide support to military families, focusing on the educational, emotional, and physical health of the children. Led by Executive Director Allison Gorrell, the foundation operates several annual programs for military children and families, including Salute to Reading, Youth in Action Camp, Military Moms Baby Shower and Salute to Scholars scholarship program.

Lindsey holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and she spent five years teaching K-6th grades
before taking time off to start a family. Her experience has allowed her to lead the foundation through the
publication of two children’s books centered on challenges faced by many military families.

Allison’s professional experience includes positions in public and community relations throughout the NFL, followed by an executive position with a national public charity comprised of professional athlete donor-advised funds. She manages all aspects of the foundation’s activities including grant writing, program development, event production and fundraising.
