Faces of KNOW: Rachel Bennett

Rachel Bennett is the Executive Chef at The Library Restaurant in St. Pete, 2019 KNOW St. Pete Featuree, and James Beard Award semifinalist for Rising Star Chef of the Year.

Her culinary aspirations began once she attended HCC’s culinary program, marking the start of her career. Rachel knew the culinary industry was where she belonged and has titles to prove it. She’s been a food stylist for HSN, a caterer for Puff n Stuff, and assisted with the opening of Edison: Food + Drink Lab under Chef-Owner Jeannie Pierola.

In 2014, she found a home within Oxford Exchange, under Executive Chef Richard Anderson. In 2018, after working her way up to Executive Sous Chef, she was offered her current role at the sister restaurant—The Library.

Her well-deserved recognition for making semifinalist of the James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef of the Year has pushed her to notoriously challenge the food industry. When she’s not in control of the kitchen, you can find Rachel spending time with her loved-ones and staying active.
